Director of Quality Assurance

Title: Director of QA (Quality Assurance) 

Location: US preferred in Stamford, CT/NY metro area and remote optional in MN, SC, or FL Reports to: President & COO

Arccos is the global leader in golf data and AI, with a fast-paced environment that delivers groundbreaking new features for golfers and the golf industry. We’re looking for a Director of QA to reshape how we build quality software and hardware experiences. We move quickly—like playing speed golf—so we need someone who can keep up while elevating our standards.

What You’ll Do

1. Define & Drive QA Strategy 

• • Transform QA from a reactive gatekeeper to a proactive, embedded discipline.
  • Set the roadmap for automation, shift-left testing, and continuous improvement.

2. Build & Lead the QA Team 

• • Mentor and scale the QA function, including in-house QA engineers, offshore/manual resources, and testers specializing in automated frameworks.
  • Create a culture of accountability, transparency, and collaboration between QA, Engineering, and Product.

3. Champion Automation & Tools 

• • Lead the rollout of unit, integration, and E2E test frameworks.
  • Ensure new features come with corresponding automated test coverage.

4. Integrate QA into Agile Development

• • Embed QA in sprint/kickoff processes—test planning occurs before a line of code is written.
  • Partner with Engineering leads to enforce best practices (TDD, CI/CD gates, code reviews with QA steps).

5. Oversee QA Operations & Standards

• • Refine test plans for critical launches, ensuring coverage for both new features and major regressions.
  • Own key QA metrics (defect rate, coverage, release confidence) and deliver consistent reporting to leadership.

6. Post-Release Monitoring & Continuous Feedback 

• • Collaborate with Engineering & Product on rapid triage, ensuring that real-world issues are quickly identified, prioritized, and addressed.
  • Own or coordinate post-mortems and drive structural changes to prevent repeated issues.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software QA or testing roles in a consumer-focused product, with at least 3+ in a QA leadership capacity.
• Track record implementing test automation at scale (unit through E2E), especially for mobile apps and/or hardware integrations.
• Solid grasp of Agile, CI/CD, TDD/BDD best practices.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills; proven ability to influence org-wide quality culture.
• Comfortable collaborating with product, engineering, and support for a seamless user experience.
• A true passion for golf and ability/desire to play golf for testing purposes.
• Nice to Have: Experience with IoT, consumer hardware, or sensor-based solutions.

• Base compensation of $150,000 to $180,000 depending on experience.
